NSS (National Service Scheme)
1. Introduction
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship youth development programme of the Government of India, implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It aims to develop students’ personality through community service, social responsibility, and experiential learning, guided by the motto “Not Me, But You.”
The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Dharampur (Solan) has been actively engaged in academic, social, environmental, and community-oriented activities, fostering the spirit of volunteerism and nation-building among students.
2. Vision and Mission of NSS Unit
Vision :

- Cleanliness drives under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
- Awareness campaigns on health, hygiene, substance abuse, and gender equality.
- Blood donation camps and health check-up camps.

b) Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives
- Plantation drives and campus greening programmes.

5. Integration of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Portal Initiative
About MY Bharat Portal
Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) is a national digital platform launched by the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to empower youth and connect them with volunteering, learning, leadership, and nation-building opportunities. It is a technology-driven ecosystem that provides experiential learning, mentorship, and skill development opportunities to young citizens aged 15–29 years.

Role of NSS Unit GDC Dharampur in MY Bharat Initiative
